Numerical experiments for stimulated rotational Raman scattering in N2

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Rotational Raman scattering involves simultaneous transitions from a number of molecular levels. The rotational Raman in N2 is complex due to the following effects:

(1) simultaneous Raman transitions coupled through pump and rotational level populations;

(2) multiphoton processes;

(3) Stokes-anti-Stokes gain competition;

(4)degeneracy of the rotational lines.
