High-sensitivity Frequency Modulation Spectroscopy With A GaAlAs Diode Laser

Abstract

A near quantum limited, high-sensitivity spectroscopic measurement has been conducted with a GaAlAs diode laser using frequency modulation spectroscopy. We have demonstrated an absorption sensitivity of 3×10−7 in a 0.84 Hz bandwidth from a water vapor absorption line.
