Abstract

Modulation of light in integrated optic Mach-Zehnder modulators is usually achieved in the linear region of the intensity voltage characteristics and therefore the effects of nonlinearities are very small. However, under large signal operation, nonlinearities become prominent. Such nonlinearities cause optical intensity to change.
