Abstract
Substrate-mode holographic optical elements have been suggested as a means of reducing many of the problems associated with free-space holographic interconnects.1-3 One of the principal advantages of this configuration is the separation of beam translation and imaging operations. Another advantage is the large interbeam angle between the incident and diffracted beams. This property can be used to produce highly polarization selective elements.
