Anisotropic Gaussian-Schell model sources: a canonical operator analysis

Abstract

Canonical operators are used to generalize one-dimensional Gaussian-Schell model sources1,2 to include n dimensions, misalignment, and loss or gain. The extended ABCD method1,2 is further extended to the misaligned case. The parameter of global coherence is also generalized, and it is proven that its trace is an invariant after propagation through real ABCDEF systems.
