Abstract

The optical parameters (in particular the nonlinear refractive index n2) of a bistable Fabry–Perot (FP) amplifier pumped by a similar GaAlAs laser have been evaluated from the optical bistability (OB) cycle of the operating device.1 This paper presents a new n2 measurement method, utilizing the same OB data through a linear fit of the single pass FP phase Φ.
