Abstract
Analysis of mixtures of particles in solution by QELS experiments are often reported. Photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) constitutes the usual method used by authors to obtain hydrodynamic properties of particles. When the level of scattered light is very low, the signal to noise ratio is very small, and the use of PCS [in particular the measurement of the second-order correlation function, g(2)(τ)] requires a long time of measurement. For this kind of situation, an alternative technique has been proposed recently, based on the measurement of the Laplace transform of the time interval probability between consecutive photons Q(s).
