Signal-to-noise ratio and resolution studies of nonlinear matched filters

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Nonlinear matched filters involve the transformation of the filter transfer function and/or the signal spectrum through pointwise nonlinearities before they are multiplied in the transform domain. Usually, high powers of discrimination and resolution are achieved. In this paper, theoretical analysis and computer simulation studies of the SNR and the resolution properties of nonlinear matched filters are reported.
