Abstract
We will describe several two-channel models of quantized light-matter interactions. In the context of few-mode cavity QED these models provide analogs of familiar optical processes, such as wave mixing, optical pumping, quantum beats, downconversion, and two-photon lasing, none of which have satisfactory analogs in the (one-channel) Jaynes-Cummings model and its extensions. We will mention methods for the exact solution of these models and a few elementary predictions of nonclassical character.
