Abstract

An optical pattern or character recognition operation may consist of matching either amplitudes, or both amplitudes and phases, or only phases. More recently, amplitude-modulated-phase-only-filter (AMPOF) has been proposed [2], which effectively utilizes both amplitude and phase information to obtain a narrower and larger autocorrelation peak between images.
