Abstract

We previously reported that luminance mechanism mediates shading perception with a spatially lowpass-filtered edge in a 2 deg disk (cutoff frequency varied from 7.2 to 1.4 cpd)1. In the present study, we examined whether shading perception is based on luminance for lower spatial frequency region.
