Strong Nonlinear Optical Resonances in CdSe with Picosecond Response Time

Abstract

The nonlinear optical properties of semiconductors are conveniently studied in a four-wave mixing experiment. We have performed such experiments in CdSe at low temperatures, using a synchronously pumped DCM dye-laser with a pulse lenght of 1.4 ps.
