Abstract

Magneto-optical disks are quite promising, because of their high reliable rewritability and high density recording. However, the signal to noise ratio is not so high compared with write-once or read only optical disks. In this paper, a higher carrier to noise ratio detection method using optical dichroism in magneto-optical materials is proposed.
