Fiber grating wavelength monitor for optical amplifier control and administration in WDM transmission systems

Abstract

A simple wavelength monitor has been demonstrated by employing cascaded fiber gratings with no mechanical movements. The wavelength drift detection characteristics were evaluated through 10 Gb/s, 4 channel WDM, normal fiber 100 km transmission experiment.
