Abstract

We designed and manufactured low count downsized slotted rod optical fiber cables. Diameter was 11.5mm at a 100-fiber cable and 8.5 mm at a 20-fiber one, compared with the conventional cable’s diameter 15.0mm. Good results were obtained in evaluation of transmission, temperature and mechanical characteristic.
