Abstract

The effects of index depression in a preform made by Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition(MCVD) along with Rod-in-Tube process has been studied for macrobending optimization. To enhance the macrobending performance the refractive index depression in the cladding and the ripple in the core have been optimized for 30mm and 40mm diameter preform. The drawing tension has been adjusted to secure the optimized waveguide design.
