Abstract

An optical video disk recorder (VDR) utilizing land/groove recording in phase-change(PC) media was developed. The recorder features a high memory density of 3.3 Gbit/in2, providing it with a recording capacity of 20 minutes at 35 Mbps for one side of a 120 mm disk.
