Side Mode Discrimination in Large Area Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers by using Impurity-Induced Disordering

Abstract

Side-mode suppression of vertical cavity surface emitting lasers using selective disordering of quantum well is studied theoretical. Results indicate that with suitable impurity profile, single transverse mode can be maintained in large area devices.
