Abstract

In high-power transmission systems employing optical booster amplifiers, it is essential to clarify the impact of using optical powers that exceed the stimulated-Brillouin-scattering (SBS) threshold power.1-4 This paper describes the waveform distortion of each bit, including pseudorandom bit sequences (PRBSs), created by the effect of SBS on the pulse patterns of CPFSK coherent systems.
