Joint Optimization of Transmission Performance and Bandwidth Utilization Based on Software Defined Networks

Abstract

We propose an extended Software Defined Networks (SDN) controller to improve bandwidth utilization with guaranteed transmission performance. An experimental implementation shows reduced bandwidth waste without impacting transmission delay and packet loss for designated applications.
