Thermo-optic Mach–Zehnder Interferometer Integrated with Si PN Diode Switch for Bipolar Optical Phase Control

Abstract

We demonstrated the bipolar phase control in Mach–Zehnder interferometer by serial connection of TiN heaters and PN diodes. We achieved 2π phase shift with single electrical signal, and pulse amplitude modulation for time-multiplexed control.
