Performance Verification of 7,424 × 7,424 Optical Switch Offering 1.4 µs Switching Time

Abstract

We experimentally verily performance of 7,424 × 7,424 optical switches that offer 1.4-µs switching time. Two key enablers are reported; newly developed polarization-insensitive 64×1 silicon-photonic switches integrated with wavelength-tunable filters, and a fast burst-mode coherent receiver.
