Impact of Laser Impairments on DSCM-Based 800G Point-to-MultiPoint Coherent Transmission Systems

Abstract

We experimentally investigate the impact of laser frequency linewidth and jitter on the design of uplink point-to-multipoint 800G DSCM systems. The performance degradation due to sub-band overlap, bandwidth limitation and DSP penalty is quantified.
