Abstract

The commercial availiability of graded index multimode fibers with a very low attenuation (0,7 dB/km) at 1,3 μm, allows for a near feature the installation of high speed systems (⩾140 Mb/s on long repeater sections (25 km, for the French experimental line LE MANS-ANGERS).
