A Surface Study of An Infrared Bandpass Filter Exposed to Cryo-Vacuum Freon/Ice Exposure

Abstract

Three discrete features were observed on an infrared filter after freon/ice testing at 83°K under vacuum. These features are areas of: nodule cluster removal, dendritic growth, and dark discoloration.
