Abstract
In a previous paper1 a method for the hybrid manufacture of reflectors for the far infrared spectral region has been described in which thin films of a high refractive index are deposited onto thick polyethylene films of selected thickness. A number of such films can then be combined by heat bonding. Through optical interference in these hybrid structures, high reflectances can be achieved. This has been verified experimentally.
