Abstract
The Laboratory for Laser Energetic's Omega Upgrade Laser system requires the use of high laser damage threshold sol-gel anti-reflection coatings.1 The need for sol-gel coatings required the development of several different production level processes to coat a variety of components. There are over 1,200 large aperture components in the system with sol-gel coatings including, input spatial filter lenses, frequency conversion crystals (KDP), laser amplifier windows, liquid crystal devices, CCD camera arrays, final focus lenses, and blastshields. Many of these devices were hardened in an ammonia atmosphere prior to use.
