Abstract

The photon transfer equation of CO2 laser beam propagating through a nonuniform distribution of fog droplets is solved by finite difference technique. A multimodal character of fog distribution develops for intense beams and heavy fogs. Spatial and temporal developments of this character are investigated. Results are compared to recent distributions obtained by inversion of general remote sensing integral equation.
