Abstract

Remote sensing can be described as an analysis of the state of an atmosphere (composition, temperature, etc) from an examination of the radiance exiting the atmosphere. In order to correctly perform such an analysis or "retrieval" of physical parameters, it is essential to have good spectroscopic data.
