Abstract
The intensity and time correlation function of light scattered from polymer gels change as different parts of the sample are explored because the sample is nonergodic (time averages differ from ensemble averages) as a result of finite rigidity, which leads to constrained inhomogeneities. We describe a direct technique for ensemble averaging by moving the sample.
