Abstract

Lithium tantalate LiTaO3 (LT), as well as the isostructural LiNbO3, belongs to a family of uniaxial ferroelectrics of 3m symmetry class, having unique polar axis Z||3 and three equivalent polar Y- axes, which are pyroelectrically non-active in stress free crystals.
