Abstract

We have demonstrated direct optical demultiplexing of NRZ signals using a semi-insulating InP buried side-injection-light-controlled bistable laser diode. The 2.5 Gbit/s demultiplexed output signals are selected and bits-width is converted in the same chip from 10 Gbit/s NRZ optical input- signals.
