1024-way Split, 70-km PAM4 Transmission for PON Uplink Using Cascaded SOAs and Volterra Nonlinear Equalization

Abstract

The effect of split-and-gain allocation for two SOAs was investigated. 128- and 8-way split for 1-st and 2-nd stage configuration achieved the bit-error-rate of under 10-3 at 20-Gbit/s PAM4.
