Enhancing the Efficiency of Upconversion by Double-Resonant Plasmonic Nanorings

Abstract

We propose enhancing the upconversion efficiency of photons at 1540 nm to 980 nm in trivalent Erbium doped fused silica by carefully tailored double-resonant plasmonic nanoring antennas. Our proposal is substantiated within an experimental study.
