Thermal Emitter Design based on Gap and Spacer Plasmon Mode Coupling

We propose tungsten based thermal emitters. With a simple three-layer metal-dielectric-metal design we obtain over 0.9 emittance between 0.5 and 2.2 μm, which is achieved by strong coupling between gap and spacer plasmon resonances.
