Joint Modulation Format Identification and OSNR Monitoring Based on Stokes Vector Distribution Features

Abstract

We proposed a joint modulation format identification and OSNR monitoring method. Identification accuracies are all 100% and the mean absolute errors of OSNR monitoring are 0.067-dB, 0.118-dB, 0.17-dB, 0.327-dB, 0.345-dB for PDM-QPSK/-8QAM/-16QAM/-32QAM/-64QAM, respectively.
