Thermally Induced Optical Effects in End-Pumped Lasers: A Discussion

Not Accessible

Abstract

Birefringence and thermally induced lensing in end-pumped laser rods and blocks are function of position. The temperature distribution is a function of the transverse and longitudinal coordinates and of time. The picture becomes more complicated when the pump beam is non symmetric. A discussion and data on the non symmetric temperature distribution is included.
