Abstract

Wind sensors operating at 10 microns rely on the heterodyne detection of atmospheric aerosol scattering and subsequent processing to measure mean Doppler shifts. A simulation of heterodyne detector output was performed based on a model of randomly distributed aerosol point scatterers illuminated by a single frequency laser pulse.
