Abstract

Differential absorption techniques/1/ exploit the lidar equation dependence on atmospheric absorption to infer the concentration of molecular species. This equation has the form where P is received power, A the antenna area, β a backscatter coefficient T the attenuation and E the transmitted energy, all at wavelengths and range characterised by the subscripts λ and r.
