Abstract

The weighted density of the ’phonon’-states (WDOS), i.e., the density of states of low-frequency host modes weighted by the coupling strength between the optical center and individual host modes is important because it gives us valuable information on the dynamics of host materials. However, the WDOS in disordered systems has not been reported yet, because it is not easy to obtain it on account of large inhomogeneous broadening of the optical spectra.
