Distributed Bragg Reflector Lead Salt Diode Lasers for Operation Above 77 K

Abstract

Distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lead salt diode lasers represent a mid infrared light source with single mode emission, wide continuous mode tunability and a temperature stability better than conventional Fabry-Perot type devices. Lasers are available with cw operation above 77 K and a tuning range of 20 cm–1 which is completely covered. The laser configuration is shown in Fig. 1.
