Abstract

The goal of our research is to develop Acousto-Optic Tunable Filters (AOTF) that can cover a significant portion of the UV wavelengths ranging from 150300nm. Advantages of the AOTF technology are that the devices are compact, rugged, have good spectral resolution, are electrically tunable, and have modest voltage requirements. Such a tunable UV band filter will prove indispensable for UV remote sensing.
