All-fiber based High-speed Linear Passive NOT Gate

Abstract

We propose a phase-only modulation based fiber Bragg grating (FBG) design for the implementation of a fully-passive and linear NOT gate. Inversion of a 40 Gbps NRZ-OOK data signal using a cm-long FBG with a 5-GHz spectral resolution is experimentally demonstrated.
