Abstract

An optical klystron is a magnetic device consisting of two undulators separated by a "dispersive section". It can be used for free electron laser experiments (1) (with an optical cavity) or for harmonic generation of coherent radiation in the ultraviolet and the vacuum ultraviolet with the help of an external laser (2).
