Abstract

We have performed the first study of the vibrational relaxation of an ionic species, $I_{2}^{-},$ in a nonpolar solvent, CCl₄. To determine the interaction of the charge with the solvent, results will be compared to a similar, but non-ionic species, I₂, in the same solvent.
