Displacement Laser sensor based on a Mach-Zehnder Interferometer Constructed Via Concatenating Two Optical Fiber Tapers

Abstract

A displacement laser sensor is presented. It consists of an erbium-doped fiber ring laser. The cavity losses are adjusted to emit a desired wavelength via bending the interferometer. A sensitivity of 1.63 nm/mm was obtained.
