The point-based computer-generated hologram algorithm uses a Gaussian interpolation kernel to create a continuous surface representation from discrete input points. The kernel width controls the final appearance of the reconstructed three-dimensional image as shown. For details, see the paper by Chen and Wilkinson, pp. 6841-6850.
