Abstract

The Spectral-Energy-Recording Adapter (SERA) has been an effective tool in this laboratory for qualitative as well as quantitative trace elemental analysis via flame photometric spectra. Originally a completely battery-powered instrument, the Beckman DU Spectrophotometer was simplified by the addition of the 73600 power supply, an ac-to-dc converter, which eliminated the need for all but one of the storage and dry-cell batteries. However, the SERA still required the use of a 1.5−V type A (lantern) battery.
