Manuscript Ratings

Once you have finished preparing your comments to the authors (and editor, if applicable), you are ready to fill in the Reviewer Form in Prism. Your first task will be to provide manuscript ratings in the specific categories for the given journal. The ratings categories are described in Module 2: Peer Review at Optica. For each rating category, you will choose from a drop-down selection containing the following options, or something similar:

• Very high
• Moderately high
• Moderately low
• Very low

Make sure that your answers are consistent with the statements in your prepared comments so that neither the editor nor author are confused about your evaluation of the manuscript.
