Abstract
This paper presents the results of the laser drilling of deep microholes (150 µm in diameter, aspect ratio up to 35) in refractory alloys. A Nd:YAG laser that generates a sequence of millisecond pulse bursts (individual pulse width 150-550 ns, pulse-repetition rate in a burst 3.5-50 kHz) was used in the experiments as the laser radiation source. The parameters of holes obtained with various parameters of the laser beam were determined by means of microstructural analysis. © 2005 Optical Society of America
